Chapter 10 – Side Story ① The Saintess

My name is Manna Primera.

I am the daughter of Viscount Primera, but inside, I am actually a reincarnated soul from modern-day Japan.

I had an overwhelming sensation when I glanced in the mirror, and I remembered my former self before reincarnation.

When I understood, I was overjoyed.

Because it was the exact face of the heroine from that otome game I’d played to death!

Beautiful pink hair. It might get frizzy if dyed, but being natural, it’s incredibly soft to the touch and very lustrous.

Emerald-colored eyes.

Supple limbs, a slender waist.

Oh, thank you, God!

Having completed all routes, the story is perfectly etched in my mind, and I understand my role.

To help defeat and condemn the nefarious villainess, Lunaria, and then marry the Crown Prince who accomplished this feat, becoming a legendary figure beloved by His Majesty the King, Her Majesty the Queen, and the entire nation.

The path to the ending is set.

This world exists for that purpose. These characters exist for that purpose. And ‘I’ exist for that purpose.

At the age of 14, I awakened to the Sacred Power. I attended church, studied the Sacred Power, and learned to control it.

Next, when I turn fifteen, I’ll enroll in the Royal Academy. There, I will “coincidentally” meet the Crown Prince, who’s been betrothed to the villainess. I’ll show him my polite yet approachable side.

The Crown Prince has become a bit hard to approach, always being compared to the overly competent villainess by the King. But deep down, he’s truly wonderful—kind and overflowing with compassion!

Honestly, even back when I was playing the game, I thought it was ridiculous that she gets pre-selected as his fiancée just because she’s from a duke’s family.

Does having status mean you can do whatever you want? As a fiancée, shouldn’t you act in ways that support the Crown Prince? That’s just how stupid the villainess is.

Charm is what matters most in everything. Manners? Etiquette? Those are things you can learn later, so it’s fine. How stupid.

After all, this world is a game. There is no reset system, but as long as “I” exists, “I” am an absolute being, the one who should be loved. The world’s beloved child, so to speak!

Lunaria, as long as “I” exist, you won’t be able to do whatever you want.

That’s what I thought.

Something’s off.

The villainess wasn’t interfering at all.

The game period is the last year until graduation, but there’s so little interference that I don’t know what to do.

When I happened to see Lunaria, she was the picture-perfect, well-behaved young lady.

And a ridiculously beautiful girl. The immense mana within her body, and the sheer ease with which she manipulates it—her magical aptitude is off the charts.

Seriously, isn’t she too much of a cheat?

I have to find a way to make her realize that the Crown Prince loves me, otherwise she won’t go mad with jealousy.

She needs to lose control, summon the Demon King, and lose everyone’s trust before she can be condemned, but there’s no chance to do that…?

I’m pretty sure I heard that Lunaria’s first magical outburst occurred after her mother died…

“I wonder if Lady Lunaria is all right…”

“With her mother passing away… it must be terribly difficult… she must be managing everything by herself, right?”

I overheard the conversation of some young ladies who happened to be passing by.

I hurriedly turned around and rushed over to them.

“Hey! Did Lunaria’s magical powers go out of control?!”

“Huh…?”

That’s strange.

“…… Do you know her……?”

“No, I don’t… And who might you be, young lady?”

“Oh, um, I forgot to introduce myself! Sorry! My name is Manna Primera!”

I greeted them cheerfully with a smile everyone would love.

Yes, yes! That’s exactly how the heroine greets people in the game too!

“………… So?”

“Huh?”

“So? What is it?”

“Well, so I wanted you to ask if Lunaria’s magical powers went out of control…”

“Lady Lunaria would never do such a thing! And calling her by her first name like that…”

“Let’s stop. This person is, you know… the Crown Prince’s…”

“Ah………”

I can hear your whispered conversation, you know?

But why?

What’s strange is that Lunaria didn’t have a magic power outburst.

If she doesn’t have an outburst, destroy the mansion, and then claim she’s not at fault! If she doesn’t cause a scene, won’t I be unable to enter the Crown Prince route? But wait, the Crown Prince already loves me quite a bit… eh… What’s going on? Is the scenario slightly off track because I’m pursuing him too quickly and efficiently?

“Miss Manna, was it? I shall answer your question. Lady Lunaria has not experienced any magical outbursts. Please refrain from such false accusations. Excuse me.”

With that, the two young ladies quickly walked away from me.

What the hell…?

They should know my name as the Saintess, so why isn’t this working out?!

After months of brooding, I finally had the chance to meet the villainess. Well, “meet” is a stretch—I just spotted her.

And of all people, the villainess has her second favorite, Mithos, sitting right beside her.

Please stop messing around.

I’ll tell the Crown Prince.

Lunaria was having an affair with the Duke’s son!

I’ll give you your first taste of karma!

You will be scolded by the Crown Prince you adore so much, and despair!

It wasn’t until much later that I realized that was the wrong way to think.
