Chapter 32 – The Most Powerful Demon King in History. Meets Lumiel’s Sister.
After spending some time in the carriage looking around the Royal Capital, we went to the place where Lumiel’s sister was staying.
The place where her sister was staying was a mansion on the outskirts of the Royal Capital.
Even though it is on the edge of the Royal Capital, it is not a slum. It feels more like a city suburb.
The residences of the aristocracy and other buildings are spread over a large area.
Surrounded by lush green hills and a beautiful river.
“Your Majesty, this kingdom is peaceful after all. There are no walls surrounding the Royal Capital.’
“For a kingdom that unified the continent, that’s a lot of leeway. The Royal Capital must be expanding rapidly.”
“Certainly, walls are an obstacle to urban expansion.”
As a result of the expansion of the Royal Capital, aristocrats probably built residences in the suburbs to enjoy hunting and other activities.
And there should be no monsters around the Royal Capital. So even if they don’t have a wall, they can’t be attacked.
Lumiel points to one of the aristocratic residences.
“My sister is in that mansion.”
Two beastmen guards stood in front of the mansion.
When we got out of the carriage, Lumiel led us into the magnificent mansion.
“Is this your mansion, Lumiel?”
Lumiel is a princess. It is not surprising for a princess to own a mansion or two.
“It’s not my mansion. It’s one of the Royal villas. Only my little sister lives there now.”
“If she’s your sister, she must be a princess, right? If she’s a princess, why doesn’t she live in the Royal Palace?”
“My sister is ill, so she is recuperating here away from the palace.”
“Hmm. That’s the way it is.”
What kind of illness would require her to leave the Royal Palace to recuperate?
With that in mind, I walked behind Lumiel.
The servants who passed by on the way only gave a slight nod when they saw Lumiel.
All the servants in the mansion were elves.
None of the servants showed Lumiel any respect.
And, while cleverly concealing their eyes so that no one would notice, the servants cast sharp glances at me.
All of the servants seemed to be very skilled.
Of all the servants, the weakest were definitely the guards standing in front of the mansion.
That felt unnatural.
“Lumiel, were the servants originally in the service of the Royal Palace?”
“Yes, Master is right. They were sent by the Royal Palace.”
“Are all the servants warriors?”
“I don’t think so… I think the guards are the only ones who have combat training.”
While we continued our conversation, we passed by several servants. There seemed to be a large number of servants.
All of them seemed to be interested in us and casually observed us.
After walking for a while, Lumiel stopped in front of the door of a certain room.
“My sister, Sirene, is in this room.”
Apparently, her sister’s name is Sirene.
“Ah, I understand. Jorm. This is the patient’s room. Don’t make a fuss.”
“Kyuru, ‘I know’.”
Lumiel then enters her sister’s room. Jorm and I went into the room together.
There is not a single servant in the room. There was only one girl lying in bed.
“Elder sister! It’s really you, Elder sister!”
The girl looks at Lumiel and happily sits up.
“Yes, I just returned to the Royal Capital today. I’m back.”
“Sirene is so glad that elder sister has returned safe and sound.”
Sirene is on the verge of tears.
Sirene seems to know that Lumiel is in a difficult situation.
“I’m glad to see you, Sirene. You look better today. I’m relieved.”
Lumiel says, but Sirene’s complexion is earthy.
Her cheeks were emaciated, and her hair was badly disheveled, probably due to lack of nutrition and care.
Her clothes were dirty, as if she hadn’t been changed.
The clothes are not much different from the children I met on the street.
As expected, the clothes that Sirene wore were of higher quality, but she didn’t look like a princess at all.
“Un, I’m feeling good today. Geho…… Gehogeho, geho.”
“Are you all right, Sirene?”
Lumiel hurriedly rubbed her sister’s back.
“Un, pardon me, I’m fine.”
Saying this, Sirene smiled weakly. I guess she’s trying not to make her worry.
“Don’t push yourself too hard just because you’re feeling well.”
Lumiel made Sirene, who had been sitting up, lie down.
“Sister, who are they? Are you friends?”
“I’d like to introduce you to Mr. Hyrum and Jorm. This is my sister, Sirene Ortville.”
“My name is Sirene. Pleased to meet you.”
“I’m Hyrum, a friend of Lumiel’s.”
“Kyuru”
When Jorm and I greet her, Sirene bows respectfully.
“My sister always takes care of me… is Jorm a dragon by any chance?”
“That’s right. Even though he looks like this, Jorm is actually an ancient dragon.”
“Wow, that’s amazing. I can’t believe I’m meeting an ancient dragon from fairy tales! It’s an honor.”
Sirene’s eyes lit up.
